1931 SHEET MUSIC
"THE WEDDING PARTY OF MICKEY MOUSE"
WORDS BY MILT COLEMAN & JAMES CAVANAUGH
MUSIC BY ROBERT BAGAR
1931 WALT DISNEY PRODUCTIONS BIBO-LANG INC. NEW YORK
One of the earliest and rarest pieces of Mickey Mouse sheet music, "The Wedding Part of Mickey Mouse" features a great illustrated color cover within a cast of Disney cartoon characters with Mickey and Minnie leading the parade. The cover illustration for the sheet music was first used as the back cover illustration on the Mickey Mouse Book - the only difference is that Minnie wears a wedding veil in the sheet music art.
The music to the song is complete in five pages, with another page of two other brief instrumental pieces - "Running Up and Down" (1928), and "Hot Ivories" (1927), plus ads on the back cover for other Bibo-Lang music publications. The sheet music also contains a ukulele chord chart. Most of the copies of this sheet music you will find are later reprints, first by Bibo-Lang, and later by Stasny. This one is a First/First with the Walt Disney 1931 copyright on the front cover, and 1931 Bibo-Lang copyright on the first page of the music making it even more rare. The price for this sheet music can be very steep. Don't take my word for it, check around.
Sheet music is 9 1/4" x 12 1/8". There are 4 small pieces of clear tape holding the covers together and a name written on the front cover, but otherwise Very Good+ condition.
